Leslie’s, a leading direct-to-consumer U.S. pool and spa care brand, is urging customers to stop using chlorinating tablets sold on Amazon and other third-party seller platforms under various imported brands from China and other countries.

These products lack the necessary U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) labels, potentially posing risks to swimmers, the environment, and pool equipment.

The imported chlorine tablets are sold under brand names such as Rayyakicg, Womtri, Mr. Bee, Superpool, Yumitis, LushRoyale, Adevit, Wisive, Lonko5Ding, Flyjoy, G-Mood, and Ghantoy.

The EPA, responsible for protecting public health and the environment, conducts research, and enforces environmental regulations.

In accordance with the U.S. Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), sanitizing products like chlorinating tablets, common pool sanitizers in the U.S., must be registered with the EPA and display a label with an EPA registration number, establishment number, and manufacturer or distributor information.

The mentioned brands, available in 1-inch and 3-inch tablets in 2.65-, 5-, and 8-pound packages, lack this mandatory EPA labeling. Pool owners should not assume these products effectively protect pool water from harmful contaminants or are safe for swimmers and the environment without the EPA label.

Leslie’s encourages pool owners to carefully check labels for essential EPA labeling requirements when buying pool sanitization products and chemicals from any retailer.
