Introduction: What is a Safety Pool Cover and Why Do You Need One?

The main purpose of a safety pool cover is a cover for your swimming pool that will keep children and pets from drowning in the pool. It is an important safety measure for any pool owner to take. The design of safety pool covers makes it impossible for children and pets from entering the water in your swimming pool.

Safety pool covers are designed to be easy to install and remove, while still providing a high-level of protection against drowning. They come in different shapes and styles, including mesh fabric and solid vinyl.

Automatic pool covers provide extra security by automatically closing when you to lock the pool cover with a key switch. A motor then winds the cover over a set of tracks sealing the pool from intruders and debris.

How Does an Automatic Pool Cover Work?

Automatic inground safety covers are a good alternative to manual options as they require minimal maintenance. They work by using a set of tracks and an efficient motor attached to rollers at one end of the pool. This will help roll up the cover and store it when not in use.

When the cover switch is activated, the motor turns on and the electric pool cover automatically rolls across the pool area with the help of two tracks on either side of the pool. These tracks can be built inside the lip of the pool for a seamless design, or lay on either side of the pool, above ground.

Automatic pool covers in Canada requires professional installation, a licensed electrician should run all wires and make connections to the breaker box.

Yes, we can- provided there is enough deck space to form a rectangle with no raised objects ( elevated hot tub, rock features) in the way. Typically we need a minimum of 2’ of space on the deck area at both shallow end and deep end. A pool ladder can be hinged and we would need a minimum of 14” of clearance if the mechanism is to be mounted at the deep end.
